Summer Shoots

Summer shoots are in full-swing!

Had a great shoot on Friday evening in Ocean City, and another one today in Monmouth Beach.

Mixing the Beach Shoots in with a few weddings throughout the Summer, and it should be another fun, busy season!

Growing

As I dive deeper into my photography career, I'm now starting to get clients/friends who have come back to do updated photos of their family/children, which is fun for me, and the ultimate compliment, but more importantly it's pretty amazing seeing them grow.

Okay, well that whole posting more thing didn't work out too well. I'll try this again (hey, I'm busy with work, shoots and kids!).

Anyay, so far 2012 has been a good year. I've done numerous portraits shoots (Family stuff), already shot a few weddings (with a bunch more coming up before the end of the year (which, literally, ends with a wedding - I have one New Years Eve, too).

But it's been a fun year so far, met a bunch of new clients, did some shoots for older clients as well (which is always a good sign!). It's really amazing to see their children & families growing through the lens.

Big week coming up. Beach portraits early in the week, then a party/event on Wednesday, plus editing the birthday party I just shot in Springhouse, PA. Also have a few other Beach Shoots coming soon, and a wedding at the beginning of August.

Will be updating more often - stay tuned.

2012?!

2011 was an incredible year for my photography business. I had the opportunity to shoot a lot of weddings, portraits, some headshots, birthday parties, baptisims, and more! So much so that I've barely had time to update my blog. I'm not the best blogger in the country/world but I do like to check in on it every so often. I'll try to do a better job of that in 2012.

Summer

Looking at my portfolio from the Summer, I can say that it's greatly expanded. I was able to shoot several weddings & portraits sessions (two beach portraits - which were a lot of fun - a family reunion, a kids birthday party and two vow renewals). Each month was packed with shoots, and every one was a great experience.

Also, I got closer to finishing my photo book called Tri-State: A Photographic Journey Of The Delaware Valley. It's now 95% complete, and with the publisher's deadline of December 1st, I only need a few more photos to finish it and send it off.

Just last weekend, I was able to shoot two weddings (one for my good friend Tom). Both were a lot of fun, and some great memories were captured. Coming up in September I have two engagement shoots and another wedding. And October seems to be busy as well with several weddings already lining up.

BIG Weekend

4 Shoots last weekend, all something different.

Friday was a wedding, where I met Amy & Jude and their family and friends. It was a pleasant affair that ended with Guns N' Roses' November Rain.

On Saturday I went to Cinnaminson for a Maternity shoot, and followed that up with a trip to Atlantic City for a Wedding Vow Renewal on the beach.

Wrapped it up on Sunday, when I traveled to Maryland (Baltimore) to capture family portraits.

Sweet 16

Met a great group of people the other night when I was hired to photograph a Sweet 16 party in Philadelphia. The night went by fast, and the shoot was smooth. Got a lot of great shots now in the editing stage.

Surprise!

Had the pleasure of capturing a surprise birthday party (the big 4 - 0 ! ) in Point Pleasant, NJ, last week. It was a perfect night to cruise out to the other half of the state. The sun was out, and we were able to get some nice formal shots of the birthday girl right around magic hour, and really, there's no better time to shoot.

Baptism

Was lucky to capture a Baptism recently. The beautiful ceremony took place in Lawrenceville, NJ, followed by a wonderful reception over in Princeton.

One thing I like about capturing these events and special moments really is meeting some terrific people and their families.

Fellenberg Wedding - Wilmington ,DE

Recently I had the privledge to capture the wedding of Ty & Gabe Fellenberg, at Harry's Savoy in Wilmington, DE. A lovely couple, with a warm, fun family around them, the shoot went as well as it could have - considering we had torrential downpours outside (nixing any hope of some exterior formal photography)! But the evening went smoothly, and I'm finishing up editing their pics now. I must say we captured some really neat shots from that night.

Etsy Sale

I'm pretty new to Etsy, and wasn't too sure how it'd go, so far it's been a success I'd say - I recently sold a print, called Spring Training!

Experiments

Recently went outside to grab a few pictures of some of my older film cameras (just for kicks), and discovered that I could get some cool, dreamlike shots with my Canon XS through the viewfinder of my Brownie Hawkeye camera.

Total accident, but I love how they came out (with some minor editing). It's like taking a picture with the Brownie, though it's all digital! Plus, I get to keep the Brownie viewfinder as the picture's "frame."

Recent Shoots

Been a busy few weeks! Along with the Oxford Arts Stroll (Oxford, PA), had a shoot in Magnolia, NJ (got some shots for a new business for their marketing materials/website) and followed that up with a Baptism shoot. Both shoots went well, now I'm currently scheduling some dates for the remainder of the Spring, and into the Summer. Waiting on a contract to come in for a July wedding, and will be shooting a Sweet 16 Birthday soon.

Frist Friday Arts Stroll, Oxford, PA

Hello, all, while I prep for my next big local show, check out the First Friday Art Stroll in Oxford, PA on March 4th! I'll have some of my photography showing at J & K Slightly Touched - 119 S 3rd Street, Oxford Pa!

Success

Well, my 2nd Saturday Photo Show was a success. Due to the bitter cold, it was mostly friends who had turned out, but it was a good experience overall - and I sold 5 prints.

And it's funny, I sorta stocked up on a few prints that I thought would be popular, and found the ones that I brought almost as afterthoughts were the popular ones.

It was actually a lot of fun, and nice to see so many friendly faces show up.

I'll be looking into doing another show in a few months, deeper into the Spring/Early Summer.

Collingswood Second Saturday

Well, tonight is the big night - my photography show!

Seemed like a decade away when it was planned in December, and now it's in a few hours. I have enough prints to show, but wish I'd made a bunch more. I just had too many darn pictures.
